Itex Expansion

World class IT services group, Itex, which supports the largest business user base in the Channel Islands is launching a full service division of the company in the Isle of Man over the next two months.

Itex currently employs 150 staff across the offshore islands and has been providing IT services for over 30 years. It is a long standing partner of global technology players such as Hewlett Packard, Microsoft and Cisco and is privately owned offshore.

The Itex portfolio spans six key components: IT Operations Management, Business Solutions, Business Continuity Management, Itex Education, Internet Services and Professional Services. It has acquired particular expertise in the provision of technology services that meet the very specific requirements of the offshore financial services industry and the unique circumstances of offshore government – including a unique fully manned 24 by 7 Operations Centre. Itex gives companies access to outstanding technology management tools operated by a team of highly skilled, multi-disciplined and dedicated professionals – all based offshore.

Rob Leader, Business Development Manager for Itex in the Isle of Man said;

 “Having a leading IT company which operates in the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man will be of great benefit for many companies who have Tri-Island businesses themselves, particularly in the financial services sector. Clients who want operational support delivered via a combination of local resources and a world class Operations Centre, from a company that really understands the needs of island clients, will particularly benefit. We are really excited about the expansion in the Isle of Man and feel we have a number of unique services to offer. Most organisations cannot justify investing in the sophisticated monitoring and management systems that they really need. These companies can benefit from economies of scale through access to the investments that Itex has already made.

Dr Ian Jauncey, Chairman of Itex commented;

“For many years we have had a small team working in the Isle of Man, focused on the development of a specific software application designed for the fund management sector of financial services. This is a very important solution used extensively by a limited number of large clients on the island.
We are expanding this team considerably in order to offer a broader range of services and will be starting our recruitment process in the next couple of weeks. We have already taken larger office space in Douglas and are looking forward to moving ahead with the launch of our full operation in April.”
